The Musée Visionnaire collection began around 2018. Although there were already donations to the Musée when the museum was founded, the decision to build up our own collection professionally only came later, when, after the early years, we began to get an idea of where the Musée’s journey could take us – and realized that a collection not only represents added value that benefits the museum, artists and visitors alike, but ultimately forms one of the cornerstones of the Musée Visionnaire institution. We have also received more and more bequests and donations, allowing the collection to grow slowly but steadily. There are now 374 works in the collection – and new ones are added every year.
The collection can be viewed digitally on the platform kleio. This was created specifically for catalogs raisonnés and portfolios and offers us the opportunity to continuously inventory and digitize our collection and thus give even more people direct access to our treasures.
We are also happy to lend works from our collection to other museums and institutions.
